DR CRAIG MONTGOMERY
Dr Montgomery provides private specialist pain management services to patients in Leeds, Harrogate and the surrounding area. He runs clinics at Nuffield Hospital in Leeds and LivingCare in Thorpe Park, this means he can offer a wide range of services at convenient locations and at competitive price points. He is recognised by all the major insurance companies and will see insured and self pay patients.
Dr Montgomery completed his undergraduate medical training in 2006 from The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. He completed his core anaesthetic training in the North East and then completed an educational fellowship with The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne including completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education. After this he returned home to Yorkshire to complete his anaesthetic training including advanced training in Pain Medicine. He has achieved fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) and Faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPMRCA) and was added to the GMC specialist register in 2019.
Dr Montgomery was appointed as a consultant at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals in 2019 and works in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine. Here he manages a comprehensive range of pain related conditions and provides a wide array of services from assessment and advice through to complex interventions. He also works for Harrogate and District Foundation Trust supporting their Living with Pain service and Leeds Community Healthcare providing interventions, such as epidurals, for their spinal treatment service for acute sciatica.
Dr Montgomery has an interest in medical education and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer with the University of Leeds. He is the national examination preparation lead for the Faculty of Pain Medicine and is a member of their educational sub committee. He actively supports a large pain medicine research portfolio in Leeds and is an expert adviser for NICE and the MHRA.
Dr Montgomery has four young children which keeps him very busy outside work and he enjoys running, cycling and the Yorkshire countryside when time allows.
